Carousel came onto the Southend Music Scene last year and quite rightly have been turning heads with their rousing Indie-Americana Folk. Fast forward to now and ‘My Father’s Son‘ demonstrates some incredibly accomplished songwriting.

Tom Eatherton’s voice is incredibly impassioned, sitting above some satisfyingly comforting backing vocals from the rest of the band. The chorus is a rousing war cry, with the song gradually crescendoing to an epic conclusion. If Carousel weren’t on your radar until now, they certainly should be. Their sound is ambitious and bold, great to see from a Southend folk band.

Carousel play Chelmsford’s Fling Festival in June, with their biggest headline tour to date beginning in September. This lot are perfect for your summer playlists, get them added up right now.
